GEORGE SILFIES RITES ARE HELD

Smethport, PA., Jan 2, 1938 (Special).
-Funeral services for George Silfies, 77, well-known farmer, were held today at 2:30pm at his home near Clermont. The Rev. J. H. Bailey of the Crosby Methodist church officiated. Burial was in the family lot in Clermont Cemetery.

Mr. Silfies succumbed to a two-month illness in the Kane Summit Hospital Thrusday night. He had been a resident of the Clermont vicinity for the past 43 years.

Surviving him are his wife Abysinnia; four sons, Joseph of Limestone, Clinton of Clermont, George of Retsof, N.Y., and Clarence of Girard, PA., four daughters, Mrs. William Johnson of Olean, Mrs. Charles Stark of Belmont, N.Y., formerly of Bradford, Mrs. William Pratt of Girard and Mrs. Alfred Anderson of Rock City, N.Y.

The four sons and Alfred Anderson and William Pratt, son-in-laws, acted as pallbearers.

Those from out-of-town attending included Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Silfies, Angelica, N.Y.; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Anderson, Gowanda; Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Ferry, Hornell; Mr. and Mrs. Ted Henning, Stoudsburg, and Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Michaelson, Smethport.
