Obituary:William E. Bennett, 73, of Davidsonville, Md. died April 8, 1988, in Annapolis Maryland after a short illness.The Wayne County native was a graduate of Georgia Teachers College in Statesboro. He was a former teacher at Jesup High School, GLynn Academy in Brunswick and a former professor at the University of Connecticut and the University of Maryland. He was also a veteran of World War II.Survivors include two sisters, Margaret Cooper of Valdosta and Ruth Heule of Thomaston; two brothers, Fred Bennett of Jesup, and Alex Bennett of Atlanta; and nieces Nan Brown and Melba Murphy and nephews Fred Bennet, Jr. and David Cooper.The funeral service was led by Dr. Douglas Jackson and the Rev. Norman Beverly.
