A Virtual Cemetery created by John Mallory Land

Veterans Eligible for Headstone from Veterans Administration, if I Could Locate a Relative

Each of the memorials in this virtual cemetery represents the currently unmarked grave of a veteran who is eligible to receive a military headstone, to be provided by the Veterans Administration. In all cases, I have all the documentation needed to apply for the grave marker, except that the VA requires authorization by a relative (they don’t care how distant or indirect). If you have any connection to one or more of these individuals or know of someone who does, please contact me by sending a suggested edit under the “Suggest any other correction” option; by posting a message directly on my message board; or by emailing me at [email protected] (please include the pertinent memorial number(s) with your message). The VA will pay for the manufacture and shipment of the headstone, and volunteers will place it on the grave—there is no cost to the applicant or the family. Thank you.
