This Cemetery was created to memorialize ancestors of Lafayette Co, MS whose graves cannot be identified. Many of the ancestors buried in old Lafayette Co, MS cemeteries (such as Abbeville, MS and others) contain many unmarked graves, or simply a grave marked with a rock. For those ancestors who lived their lives there, most likely died there any and very few early graves had tombstones to identify them. Those those of us who want to honor those ancestors, this is about as good as it gets in terms of a memorial.
