Femme Osage was known as Spanish Alta Upper Louisiana ((Before the Louisana Purchase in 1803)) some referred to that area as Femme Osage Territory and Spanish Louisiana Territory. Both Susannah Boone and William Hays are buried on their Hays Farm, along with other members of their family.
