Bio

I was born in Leila Hospital in Battle Creek, MI in 1948, and lived on my family's farm in Athens, MI until 1951 when our family moved to Marshall, MI. I graduated from Marshall High School in 1966 and lived in Marshall until 1968 when I entered the U.S. Navy. My last two years in the Navy were served aboard the USS Bainbridge, DLGN-25 nuclear powered, guided-missile frigate.
Following discharge from the Navy, I enrolled in the University of Michigan where I earned BS and MS degrees in Nuclear Engineering. While at Michigan, I married Vickie Gardner in 1972.
In 1977 I was hired by EG&G in Idaho Falls, ID. In 1980, our son Jeffrey Fausz was born. Later that year I was hired by Exxon Nuclear Inc. in Richland, WA and we moved to Kennewick, WA. I continued working at the same facility in Richland through various changes of ownership and company name changes, ending with Areva Inc. in 2016 when I retired. Vickie died in 2014 due to complications following brain tumor resection.
In 2016, I met Diane Hall, and we were married in 2019. Diane and I continue to live in Kennewick, WA. We also own a cabin in the Mt Hood Village RV Resort near Welches, OR where we vacation periodically through the year.
