This includes adding GPS locations for graves I come across and adding bios from obituaries found online. If time permits, I try to get a surroundings picture, a gravesite picture, and a closeup of the headstone or marker for the details of the memorial. If a memorial already has some photos, I grab a few more if they are outdated or the surroundings have changed.

It's important to document information that can be easily lost within a year. Grave markers made of paper or flimsy plastic are often broken, destroying information that could help someone find a missing link and most importantly not allowing anyone to remember who was buried there.
