Bio

I am a native of the state of Texas. My paternal grandparents (Bishop, Hodnett) moved from Alabama to Bell County, Texas around 1904. My father (memorial 230045822) was born in 1923 at a farmhouse located in the same county. He escaped the farm on a football scholarship to Texas Christian University ('TCU') in Fort Worth Texas. My mother (memorial 10847023, parents - Spence, Clements) was a native of the state of Nebraska. She attended the University of Nebraska until the death of her first husband, who was a crew member of a B-24 bomber that did not return from a mission over Vienna, Austria during World War II. She transferred to TCU before the war ended. My father and mother met at TCU after he had returned from his military service during World War II. My F.A.G. name is the result - I am the third TCU Horned Frog in the family. After retirement from a career in operations consulting and information technology, I became interested in family history. F.A.G. has been a valuable tool. Lost and unknown relatives have been found. Fond, old memories have been re-kindled. Knowledge of the family genealogy has been expanded, and the kindness of people I have never met has been received. At this point I do not implement new memorials or modify existing memorials. I leave that to those that are proficient. However, I welcome contacts and inquiries from fellow F.A.G. members.
