The photo on the beach above is of the town of Vieste, Foggia, Italy, where I was born. The dark form of a boat near shore, sank years before I was born, is a reminder of where I played pirates/navy/explorers. the challenge of swimming to the lighthouse is further out. We also played soccer on the beach. On the feast of Saint George, along with the processions, food, fireworks, bands, had horse races on the beach. Although my parents & 3 of 4 grandparents were from Vieste area, most of my DNA matches are from Acri, Cosenza, Calabria. Much of Acri along with My grandmother & 3 sisters all came to R.I. & married, along with one aunt who had 10 children, & an uncle who had 9. The Acri family has an extensive helpful tree.
