Bio

My father Robert Lee Bergstrom - born in Sioux City, IA as James Dwight Hinkley ... so the story goes... - was adopted as a baby by Francis Robert Bergstrom and his first wife (Donna Lillian Benton 03/18/1907-10/19/1937).
I'm not on some massive venture to find his real parents, but I have absolutely gained a hell of a lot of respect for Francis who adopted him. Man what tragedy to marry the love of your life, adopt a baby, lose your wife mere months later to ovarian cancer, be in "The Great Financial Depression of 1929-1941" and facing WWII as a single dad with a 17 mo baby. Whew! Props to Grampa Bergstrom!!
And that was just the beginning because he lost Erma in a car crash who had Bill, Judy, and Joann. So toast to you Grampa B! You one tough Hombre!
Skål!!
(Which for you non-Swedes is Cheers!!)
