IF YOU SUBMIT SUGGESTIONS TO A MEMORIAL I MANAGE:

Please indicate how you know the information you are submitting. I want to be sure that the information presented is NOT just a guess, or information intended to solicit other suggestions. There are so many I have seen related to my family that seem to be just guesses that I don't want to include guesses in my memorials. This information should be reliable, not just a general suggestion.

It doesn't have to be more than "I knew this person" if you did. I don't need to see your documentation, just list a few of the things you have; I might look up one or two, but most likely won't look at all of them. "Family bible" is also fine; I don't need to see that, either (although if anyone has one that shows parentage and husband of a Sarah Jenkins, first found in the 1850 census in Saline County, Arkansas, as a 26 year old widow with two young children, Pauline (aka Polina, etc.), 6 and Mary, 4, in the household of John and Disey Hesson, 56 and 61, along with John Townson, 86, I would LOVE to get this!).

I started taking photographs because I needed a photo of my great-great-grandmother's marker, to hopefully prove she died the date our family knows she died, not the two days later her death certificate shows (a day after it shows she was buried!). I had to drive two hours each way to get the photo (which sadly included only years), so I thought I would start to help those who need photos where I am.

I am closest to Sunnylane Cemetery in Del City, OK, so I started taking photos there. Once I'd tried for almost all of the photos requested, only to find the great majority of the requests were for folks for which I could find no marker, I started taking photos of full sections, since the cemetery had only 54% of memorials with photos when I started. I will be taking more section photos while the weather is warm and I have time, then uploading those and the ones already taken over the winter of 2019/20 when I don't want to go out and take photos because of the cold.

I am going to record which sections I have taken, when I took them, and when they were uploaded, so that others will know that there is a low likelihood of finding markers in those areas.

I'm also going to update maps in an Excel file of where the markers are, so that I can quickly identify where someone with an unmarked grave should be.

I'd also like to know which sections (or parts of sections, down to the row) others have taken photos of, so I don't waste my time in those sections! So if you're taking photos of entire (or partial) sections in Sunnylane Cemetery, please post on your bio which sections you have taken (or message me!).

NOTE: When date uploaded is added for a section or row, there may be some markers that were photographed for which I could not find an existing memorial, nor could I find a person in the cemetery ledger with that name and close death date, so did not create a memorial.
