Having utilized FAG for many years in my gen research, I finally decided to start contributing when I can and linking up family members. I can't say enough good things about the site.

I love to track down old obituaries and post them, with credit given to the newspaper they orginally appeared in. And for the record, YES, newspaper obits can and should be published on FAG but please give credit to the newspaper. And if transcribing, PLEASE, double check for typos. It should run as written. Any additional info, notations or corrections should be noted above or below the obit, not within it. But I'm not gonna have a cow if you correct the spelling of a word. Even newspaper editors make mistakes. (But you didn't hear that from me.)

I'm not sure where the idea came from that obits couldn't appear here. FAG encourages it! They're like time capsules, moments in time, full of little treasures of info. Please include them whenever you can. Even better - a scanned copy of the original obit!

I don't manage many pages but if one of them is a relative of yours and you'd like a transfer, by all means, let me know. I'm happy to oblige.

Happy Gening!
