Here in Germany (and parts of Europe), fathers (and men as such, even without children) are honored on "Ascension of Christ" Day. "Ascension Day" is celebrated on the 40th day of the Easter festival cycle, i.e. 39 days after Easter Sunday. That is why the festival always falls on a Thursday, and so this year it falls on May 18, 2023.
...and Father's Day (Ascension of Christ) is always a public holiday for everyone in Germany :) !

***January 25, 2023 - Today I went into the library, to use one of them's PCs and I could flower memorials without any kind of problems... It seems to be a 'smartphone thing' ?! I don't know why, maybe it's the high-speed data volume or the internet connection..., that it not always works to flower memorials ?!

***January 24, 2023 - Hi there to all of you ! I have some problems to flower some memorials (even my own ones !)... at some of the memorials it works to leave a flower and then it doesn't work any more, and I'm not able to leave any flower. If I try then the whole website hangs and I have to close everything... I have no idea what could be the problem ?! I use a smartphone..., has someone else has had this problem at any time too and could give any advice ?! Thank you so much in advance !!

*** April 25, 2020 - Heartly thanks so much to all of you who visited and left flowers at the memorial of my loved ones while I'm away - I really appreciate your efforts and your love, and I'm touched, and I'm happy about it ! I'm sending out love, hugs & blessings to all of you - stay safe and stay healthy during this awful corona time we all have to walk through !!

*** May 29, 2019 - Last week on monday at work, a small orange canary has been flown into the accounting office ! Our two accountants caught her, one of our elderly residents had still an old birdcage at home, they put her into that cage.
Then the little bird worked a week with us in the accounting office or at the reception desk (in the evening and on the weekend) :) . On Sunday evening I took her home with me and now she lives with my cat Maggie and me... :)
My cat Maggie is just curious, she doesn't try to catch her or to paw the cage to scare that little guy.
In the next days I want to buy a new, better cage for that cute little canary... :)

I need to go to work in between times, so it only goes slowly...

What could I tell you about myself... ?!
I was born and rised in Berlin, Germany. ...and I'm still living there :)
I work as a receptionist in a home for elderly people (Assistent Living for Seniors).
We work there in 3 shifts - early, late, and night shift - so that the reception is open 24 hours a day, and that means all days, including Sundays and public holidays.

I came across "Find a Grave" because I was looking for some information about Art Estorga (when was his funeral and where was he laid to rest).
He was one of the most special people, I've had the luck to meet in my life. I'm heartbroken about his passing...
Art Estorga was very close to my sister and me - we were guests in his home in Yucca Valley, CA, in 2001 and 2005.
He had been a Korea and Vietnam Veteran of the US Air Force and he also was stationed in Germany, unfortunatelly I can't remember that year anymore...
