I am the 4th Great Grandson of Joshua & Lydia Walls-Jay. Free people of color whose families both help settle Hinsonville (Lincoln University) Oxford, Chester County, Pennsylvania. Three of their sons George, Wesley & William Jay (My 3rd Great Grandfather) all served in the famed *Company B. 54th Massachusetts Regiment Volunteer Infantry* along side 1st cousins (Albert G. Walls and brothers James & Josiah Cole) My 2nd Great Grandfather Walter Jay born in 1881 (William & Mary Wilson-Jay's youngest child) migrated east to Philadelphia soon after his father passed in 1893. Walter later married his wife Maggie Nicholson who birthed my Maternal Great Grandmother Blanche Jay-Lambert (James Sr.) in 1900, she gave birth to her 4th child my Maternal Grandfather James Lambert Jr. (Sylvia Gorham-Lambert) in 1932 (His daughter Gwen Lambert, My mother was born in 1954) I was born in 1971, currently living in Historic Germantown (Philadelphia). Our Jay-Walls family have been in Pennsylvania since the 1830s.
