Due to disturbances at Milwaukee County Almshouse and Poor Farm Cemetery 2 in 1991/92 and again in 2013; 2,480 individuals were exhumed due to "progress development" and approximately 1,000 buried individuals were paved over. The exhumed remains are held at UW Milwaukee for research with the #1 goal to identify the remains exhumed. Our community's goal is dignified reinterment of all exhumed individuals.

As the organizer and president for the Descendant Community of Milwaukee County Grounds Cemeteries, Inc, (Cemeteries 1-4), we strive to find others related to those once buried at this site. By doing so, we provide services and support to the related families in an effort to educate, as well as to assist with possible repatriation of ancestor's remains with their families for dignified reburial.

In April 2023, my husband and I had an amazing opportunity to photo the 1,567 headstones requested of soldiers buried at Florence American Cemetery Memorial. It was a true honor to bring these photos to their families through find-a-grave.
