Bio

Founder and President of The Harris Depot Project, an open-source project to facilitate researching and sharing information about the Harris Family and Harrisburg, NC.

I'm an amateur historian and genealogist. My work focuses on the descendants of Robert Harris, Sr. (1702-1788) and the Harrisburg community, in Cabarrus County, North Carolina, USA. I also maintain a database of extended family and related families in that lineage, including surnames Howie, Midkiff, Davis, Cope, Smith Phillips, McClellan, Spears (Spiears), Gilmer, Plunkett, Shaver (Schaeffer), Earnhardt (Ehrenhardt), Hadley, Quay, Query, Stafford, among others.

The Harris Depot Project provides a framework and resources to assist beginning and experienced historians in collecting, organizing and sharing documentary history. We are open to volunteers from high school through retirement, and utilize materials that are available free-of-charge, from the online databases to the tools that we use in our day-to-day activities. We also make electronic versions of our publication available in free-of-charge, PDF format.

Please feel free to contact me if you'd like to know more. You may reach me at [email protected]. For convenience sake, please include "Harris Depot Project" in the subject line.
