I graduated from Jackson Central High in 1970 and from Ms University for Women in 1974 with a BS in Physical Education and a Teaching Degree. I worked in a bakery, as a mechanics helper for the City of Jackson Garage and substitute taught in the Jackson School System. I was a police officer from 1975 thru 1994, when I attended Nursing School at Allied Nursing Center in Jackson. I began nursing in 1994 at the University of MS Medical Center. I retired in 2005 and joined the MS Quality Improvement Association (IQH) as their Surgical Care Improvement Project Leader for the State of MS. I retired from IQH in 2012.
