I have taken on Findagrave to document our family history. It has been a pleasure, and also an uphill endeavor. Some managers are thrilled to turn over sites to familya couple refuse outright.
Because my parents came from families of 10, I have spent quite a bit of time sorting 14 bins of pictures and albums. If I had a problem it was that I have too much history for the Andersons and Lee's, Greseths and Stebergs. Plus, growing up in Minnesota and having reunions both sides in Canada and US. We met and knew most relatives. Some 1st cousins I never did meet on Anderson side, however.

It was extra important that I documented my relatives who either didn't marry or had no children.
Now my husband's family memorabilia is still to be built. We don't even have bios for my husband's parents. Loretta died the year we married, age 52 in 1969 and his father Julius had died in 1963 when Mike was a senior. He has one sister, Patrice.
The Hansons were pretty easy but the Paulsons, Mike's grandmother Minnie Paulson Hanson, her parents, her brothers and sisters are finslly being managed by us.. Mike's mothers family, Loretta Murphy Hanson, only child. mother Ella Martin Murphy. father Patrick Joseph Murphy, USMC, US Legation Guard, Peking China 1907-1909. Then found Thomas and Ann Murphy at Hope Cemetery. No graves found but church and obits say they were interred at Hope.. So excited that Thomas, Patrick's father. was athletic working logs for Lumber Company in rapids. Patrick had 4 sisters growing up and lived a few blocks from Leinie Lodge. Then found Catherine, great great grandmother butied at Hope. Married to Thomas. great great grandfather in Canada and both from Mayo Ireland. All exciting and new info. Catherine's Thomas supposedly buried in Canada but no gravesite.

Ella's father earned iron cross in Franco Prussian War and greeted Prince Wilhelm brother in Milwaukee as long standing County clerk on Taylor County. Visits to Greenwood and Rib Lake opened up more information. Ella's grandparents Friedrick and Fredericka lived in Taylor Cty. Found Fredricke but no Fredricka grave at St. Paul's Lutheran. Three children stayed in Saxony Germany, East Germany, no record yet of them. So, take a few steps forward and a few back.

Rollauf Siebert Greseth Stordahl Roscoe Mn obit and history say he is buried at church but not located many inquiries.

Thomas Murphy emigrated from Ireland, lived in Quebec, Canada. Son Thomas and Ann, p plus Catherine, all buried Hope Cemetery.

My husband and his sister are writing bios for parents. Found picture of Julius Hanson age 14 with President Calvin Coolidge with scout troop at Summer Whitehouse, age 14.

I have cleaned stones with Wet and Forget. It is terrific.
So I plan to continue searching out Mike's family; Hansons, Martin's, Murphy, and Paulsons. Mike is named for Mikal, John Hansons father and Joseph after Patrick Joseph Murphy. Patrice Olga, sister, is named for opera singer neighbor in New York and Olga Grundig Martin her Great grandma Olga Grundig Martin.
