Bio

Back in the mid 1990s I was heavily involved in genealogy researching my family history. This was back when about the only decent source of data was early versions of America Online which I accessed via a dial-up modem requiring a cradle for the phone receiver! Times have changed!

Before there was any decent software packages available for maintaining records of my research, I developed my own. It really had some fairly sophisticate features such as exporting and importing GEDCOM files.

I eventually had nearly 2000 records of my nearest and dearest ancestors. From that data, I created huge 4 foot tall X 12 foot wide wall charts that I displayed at our family reunions.

But shortly after the turn of the new century, changes in my life caused me to drop the project. Only in the last few months have I finally found the time and inclination to pick up where I left off.

Yes, things have changed. I installed Legacy Family Tree and within a few hours I had loaded almost 100% of what I had decades ago and much more. I now have a database of over 7000 ancestors with a number of my family's surname lines dating back into the 14th and 15th century. What a change!

I am really enjoying the search!
