Bio

Hello fellow family historians.
I have been researching family and Genealogy for about 6, years. My obsession with Genealogy started after an illness kept me at home and I had time on my hands. My dad had passed away, he had given us kids the Schrakamp family tree. My great-uncle, Johannes Josephus "Jan" Schrakamp started the family in the late 1930s when Germany required German/Dutch citizens to provide their ancestry. The Schrakamp family tree dates back to 1570 Mettingen, Germany.
My grandfather came to the United States in the 1920s from the Netherlands and he married a good old gal from Texas.
I started researching my mother's side of the family. Some of my Mom and Dad's family dates back to the founding of the United States and before.
My sister and I bought each other Ancestry DNA kits. And we found so many cousins and family history, our family tree exploded!
I very much wanted to honor my family that had passed away and started adding memorials. I'm now obsessed with ensuring all my family members are so honored.
I was born and raised in northern California and currently live in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
All the Best, Teddi
