I came across this page while searching for information on my ancestry. I enjoy finding pictures and information on my ancestors. I always have. I was raised by my great grandmother, Maxine Iva Lump Clark Neal. I was always listening to stories from her childhood and was always captivated by them. Always loved looking at the pictures. Some she remembered who they were, some she didn't. It didn't matter to me. I just loved looking at them and imagining their time. We were always a close family and I liked that. Always together as much as possible. From all of the stories I heard and pictures I saw, it seemed that it was always that way. As a child, my great grandmother, nana I called her, and I would often visit Huntington,WV and Chesapeake, OH for the entire summer. I loved it up there. We would always stay at nanas cousins house, betty mae Brown Frazier dingess. So often they would sit and talk about their childhood. Their parents, bettys brothers, their aunts and uncles. Stories I often heard many times over but I never cared. I would just sit and listen. Sometimes trying to see their stories play out in my head. We would often take afternoons and just drive all over Huntington and the nearby areas, and Chesapeake, proctorville, etc and they would tell me stories about different places and things that happened there which always lead to mostly funny or interesting stories of their youth together. Both of those women forever hold a special place in my heart. They are truly missed. My fondest memories of my childhood have them in them. All of my love for their stories and photos lead me on my search to know my ancestors and the people in those stories, and their parents and ancestors. I have much work to do and I find it very difficult without my nana here to answer questions for me. My nana is a Lump, her father was Walter h Lump. Other than that i have no other lump info. I never heard many lumpp stories either. Most were Parsons, which at a certain point, starts to get slightly confusing. My nanas mother Iva mae was a Parsons and bettys mom Edna pearl was her sister. Their parents were James m Parsons and Sarah m Davis. The Davis name I also have trouble following as well. I know James mother was a Morrison, also not sure if I am following that one right. Some other names of my ancestor grandmother's are Mary Polly sleeth, fanny woodruff, elizabeth chesnut, and i believe a martha hughes. Those are just the women who married a Parsons man. My nana, she married a Clark. Herbert r. Clark whose father was Samuel Burdett Clark and mother Verna clarinda hood.the Clark lineage is proving to be a pain too. Together my nana and grandpa herb had one daughter, my grandmother Dana jo Clark, who married a mauck, george m mauck, and had my mother Wendy m mauck. My grandpa George's dad was Morton mauck but from what I understand he was adopted I think, so there's that pain too. My mother married James m king and then they had me. Sara m king tears. My father doesn't know much about the king ancestry unfortunately. His dad was a bum drunk or something he told me so he doesn't know much. His mom, my grandmother, was Roma Moore Jones. She died about 6 months before my first contact with my biological father when I was 31. I know nothing above that on my father's side so any Info that can be shared would be much appreciated. Currently my interests are expanding my knowledge of the Parsons line, Davis line from Sarah Margaret, the Morrison line from Letitia Morrison. I would love to learn more about the Clark line for sure and lumpp as well. If anyone knows anything about my grandfather George maucks line and his father's possible adoption or whatever it was, I would greatly appreciate the share. Same goes for the king line. I'm told somewhere there was an adoption there too. Thank you to everyone who posts info on this website. It's very helpful.
