Bio

I appreciate the amount of work so many have put into this site. I have made use of it for several years as part of my ancestry search, but have only recently started providing edits and taking over or creating Memorials. If I control a Memorial that you have a closer family relationship with, let me know and I will be happy to transfer to you (especially, if you are able to provide more bio information).

All of my grandparents were born in Texas, but their parents came from Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama and Louisiana. Further back, I have ancestors that arrived at various place on the eastern seaboard (with exception of New England and Florida) during the 1600's and 1700's.

My closest ancestors on my Dad's side are Gentry, Bailey, Lamb, Covington, Smith, Cook, Neace (or Neese or Niess) and Dukes.

My closest ancestors on my Mom's side are Atcheson (or Atchison), Padgett, Jones, Henderson, Flinn, Ragland, Strahan, Aycock and Manning.

I have also been active in looking at the ancestry for my wife's side. All her ancestors are Czech (mostly from Moravia) that immigrated in the 1880's and 1890's. Her grandparents (all born in Texas) are Zalmanek, Matcek (or Macek), Hubenak and Danek. All her great-grandparents were immigrants that eventually made it to Texas (and add Kanek, Mrnustik, Jurina and Sykora names to the list). Only two of her 2nd great-grandparents immigrated (and they came after their children were settled).
