Bio

I am a direct descendent of the Patterson and Hensley lines who landed in Harlan/Knox/Bell/Whitley County, Kentucky in the early and mid-1800s as the counties were changing and renaming. I am a researcher by "trade" and education and spend my time attempting to correct misinformation that has shown up all over the internet to help those who come along later looking for the same type of stories. The family names of my 3-4x great-grandparents include Hensley, Patterson, Hale, Meeks, Fields, Lawson, Toler, Bays, Tuggle, and Scott.

My biggest mysteries include the mother of my 2x great-grandfather, Alexander (Alec) Patterson as well as the full name of his first wife (Susan "Nancy" Gadd/Garrad). It seems my male relatives married a lot! I finally cracked the code of Alec's father with the help of DNA that led me to a cousin, DOMINY, and some pension documents that supported my other records and included all of the known siblings of Alexander.
