Bio

Most of my life, I believed that all of my ancestors arrived in the US from Ireland and Germany in the mid 1800’s, but then I found that my paternal grandfather’s (Everett Ungemach, buried @ The Evergreens in Brooklyn) mother, Adelia Howland, had deep up-the-Hudson (Relyeas) and New England roots. Adelia’s mother, Mary Elizabeth Relyea, buried at The Evergreens, was born in Esopus, NY. Adelia’s father, James Mosher Howland, buried @ The Evergreens, was born in Peru, NY, but his father was born in Dartmouth, MA.
