Bio

I'm a thinker, and an intensive researcher.

I chose the public name of "Family Disambiguation" and am dedicated to using the GPS (Genealogical Proof Standard) to ensure TRUTH & ACCURACY of the proverbial family tree (yours, mine, and ours) against the tidal wave of unwitting, but well-meaning modern "Click-Any-Ologists."

My goal has been TRUTH and ACCURACY, using original primary documents, wherever possible, and direct, indirect, and negative evidence to reveal the interlaced wall of proof needed to identify the correct relationships of our ancestors "lost in the backwoods of the South" in what are often burned-over districts of the American Revolutionary and Civil Wars.

My mission has been separating truth from error, from mere legend, myth, and alluring fairy tales. I began this research not knowing the outcome, merely wanting to truly know what applied to my ancestors' lives to come to know them in a real sense in their historical context.

I hope to help tear down the genealogical brick walls. I recommend the internet tutorials by Crista Cowan, the "Barefoot Genealogist" viewable at Ancestry.com > follow us on YouTube > playlists > Desktop Education or Genealogical Proof Standard. She has over 300 videos with training sessions averaging 25-30 minutes. She is animated, articulate, a pleasure to listen to while watching her essential PowerPoints. It will train you to be an informed direct-entry genealogist! Blessings!
