I started wondering about who was the departed souls in cemeteries when we would go visit on decoration day to many of them. I knew I had a brother 23 years older than I, to die at a very young age of 4. He was born in 1932 died in 1936. All 3 siblings are gone, but a sister, 10 years older than I. Around 1980, I asked my Grandmother for Information on her Mother- came up with much of nothing. Mammy was born in 1893- died 1982. So I started digging and roaming . Genealogy became a passion and in my quest for WHO AM I. Now My husband and I , along with our constant Companion, a little 8 year old Mountain Feist continue on with our genealogy research and roaming cemeteries.. We have found have Many kin foks in --27 States, 7 continents and 943 other locations! Got info running out my ears! I'd even give some close kin away IF I could. You Know-- just UNLINK..(SMILE)
II became a member in 2008 ~ Different acct ~ UNDER X's email- & acct, and Name. All now- "Defunct" History!

I don't Manage all "MY FAMILY" mine. A person not any kin to our family on the East Coast manages most them, But That's Ok.
Virtual cemeteries are great for adding ALL your family members, 5th cousins, friends, Mail man, Dogs, cats, next door neighbors, ♡ & ect. You Know "Defunct" History!

MULTIPLE married NAMES . Yes, I KNOW many NAMES are NOW allowed now: with respect to the site, .~~~ ~~~ I will ADD ~NAME ON STONE or if No Stone the legal name at time of death entered in Last field. All other names will be included and married information ( if found) will be added in the Bio!~~ EXAMPLE is Jane DOE Wall Cook Lemon Johnson : DOE is Maiden Name. BUT married names of Wall Cook Lemon & Johnson ... How many You gonna find with that Name anywhere? 1 and 1 Only. NOT multiples..

I recently made a dup by Accident because a contributor added a lady in as First name not found in obit- and 2 last names TOTALLY all Different from what STONE HAD. AND WOULD NOT CHANGE any names to REFLECT stone. If You are unsure Read the Help section on Names.
Had a Man with three memorials, Because He was adopted and some one kept changing his LAST name to reflect his Birth Name. Adding Him as on Stone and added him again under BOTH ~ FINALLY got all the Hyperlinks in Bio & asked to PLEASE LET HIM RIP in PEACE.
All Dates added are to match markers/stones. ANY and ALL Age -date- Discrepancies will be noted in bio..Ect.

IF when STONE is Found & legible Photo is added to Memorial -This CAN serve as proof -for ANY Suggestion to Change Last Name.
Death certificates are only as good as the informant gave. Some MAY/CAN be wrong & even Off on Dates and info.
Many stones/markers can be or have been set Years later by descendants and dates can vary .
SSI index ~showing last place they Lived -IS NOT ALWAYS ~ WHERE THEY PASSED" and the MAILING ADDRESS- can be a adjoining town that has a post Office! Rural Communities Use the nearest Post office in a town or city. Such as Possum Holler is NOT a City or Town.

: IF I Can't find the information.. in a search; and ask for your source. IF You DO NOT -respond-. Its a decline. period. Not a Guess. Just because you found it another site, don't make it 100% accurate. Many people change info to suit their own mind, and add What THEY want to Be.
I found my own grandma married to her brother on one. Found 7 trees and only 1 had the correct linage info.. Records to research people can be easily found. Census , marriage, deaths, cemetery records.. Verify your edits! Do Your own research and you Know it is Correct! ANY AND ALL info on A HEADSTONE photo ~ Should be READABLE to Others, it does No good if not. Not 20 feet away.

Same goes with Any type of document placed on a memorial, CUT off the excess black or white. If You know already how to Cut and edit then ~Clean it up. MAKE it READABLE -if you cant read it How can we.
I do NOT add links from suggestions sent thru emails. or messages USE the appropriate parent/spouse link tabs in memorial you want links added.

Do Not Copy , drag, drop or clip or screenshot ANY Photos that I took and Added in any shape form or fashion, and reload them back as Yours.
I also am very well aware of the Guidelines but as I take every stone in a cemetery I have no way of knowing if a person is living or deceased. Therefore IF I add one I mean no disrespect to those not gone. Many I find are deceased and have No death date added and will be missed, if not added.
There's One person we know who purposely adds any spouse when one passes . They make a Pre-Need memorial , do not link or complete with info. They screenshot , cut and edit our photos acting like they took, to the spouse that Isn't dead. ...on purpose. This is and always has been a site for Graves. - Its called FIND A GRAVE! Not Maybe I'll be buried here.

Photos should not be added from any other source either other than what YOU took yourself.
IF I ASK for a Photo request it is Because (1) No Photo of Stone. (2) The photos added ARE NOT headstone/grave marker photos. ( dont call a metal funeral Home Marker a HEADSTONE (3)
Needs New Death Date showing on stone~if it has a photo already there. or (4) or CANT READ the Name or Dates. ... Photo request are NOT to be added from another source where you found(a) photo!

We photograph many stones. I usually add 3. one for location , one for
complete headstone, ( just so you know there is a spouse, and lastly but most important, a Readable -close up of Name -birth and death). Not a photo standing on top the stone looking down( where you can't read the name- dates)
No shadows of myself, No ugly animals, no Toes (I cut my toes off) and not 20 feet away!
I do not specifically go out and Hunt Photo Request.
