Bio

Hey! Obviously, my name is Lisa. Born in KY. I'm an Army brat so I have lived in many different places, and have traveled the world, but, West Kentucky has always been home. That is where we came back to when Dad retired. We have been back in W.KY. since 1980. I've been dabbling in genealogy for about 10 years. My roots go deep in the KY. and MO. soil. Mom's genealogy is fairly easy to trace. There are great records. Dad's maternal line is fairly easy also. The paternal line is a nightmare, as two of his great uncles spelled their names differently. We've always been told that one or more of my great grandfather and his brothers where told by teachers how to spell their name, and the spelling changed from Hutson to Hudson or vise versa. There are cousins here in KY. who spell it differently than we do. Which in researching the line has apparently happened to many Hudson/Hutsons. I've read many different cause for the changes in spelling, from teachers to census takers to the people who recorded names of immigrants on Ellis Island.... My main interests at this time are the Hudson, Cook, Crump and Woods on Dad's side. And Hobbs, Burgess, Thomas and Spalding on Mom's side....... PS...I have received notification of E mail messages from a few people that the messages did not show up, if you dont see your mssg. please resend it...Thanks
