Though I have known much of my immediate family's history for a long time, I started actually researching and writing down our genealogy about 40 years ago with my mom. Since then, I have gone through times when I have been busy with the endeavor, and times when I put it on the back burner due to time constraints. Technology has really changed since we began back then. We started out going to the libraries and genealogy departments and hand writing lists and filling in blanks. Later I moved up to software like Reunion for the Mac, then, even more recently I started using Find A Grave, FamilySearch.org, and Geni.com. These tools have really made research easier and now allow my research to be used and linked up to other's research.

Most of my family settled in northeastern Ohio, western Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
