I was born in Brooklyn, New York September 25, 1946, to a Marine veteran of WWII and New York native (John Fothergill Sr.) and a nurse & Pennsylvania native (Doris Miller, seen in photo).

I moved to Uniontown, Pennsylvania with my mother when I was about 3-years-old, after a very wild time in my young life! I grew up in the home of my grandparents, Judson and Hazel (Tuttle) Miller. My mother and father divorced and when I was 6-years-old, my mother and I moved to California, so she could find better paying work.

After a little while, the man she had dated in Pennsylvania after the divorce (Robert "Bob" Blackford, a musician and engineer) moved to California, so they could get married.

When I was 9-years-old, I was blessed with a baby sister and adopted by my wonderful step-father!
