Single dad to a wonderful little girl whom I try to teach to appreciate life and respect death.I often visit my little sister at San Fernando Cemetery #2 here in San Antonio, Texas. Since she was an infant when she died, she was buried in a section known by many as Baby Land. There are maybe 200+ babies/ children buried here. During my visits to the place where angels lay at rest, I noticed that about 98% of these children have been forgotten. No one comes to visit them, say a prayer or even leave flowers. The headstones are old. Some are crooked, some are tipped over, while some are so old that it's hard to read the child's name. Many of these children died during the late 1940's early 1950's. In doing some research, I found that the #1 killer of children here in San Antonio and in South Texas during this time frame was Polio and Yellow Fever. In one of my visits, I decided to take it upon myself to add each and every child buried at Baby Land to the Findagrave data base ! My hopes is that someone trying to located deceased family members thru this site will find a family member here in Baby Land. That they will come visit section 8-B and be reunited with their little angel. I am not sure how long it will take me, but I will get it done !!! My #1 priority !
