I am involved with the Friends of Prescot Cemetery & Churchyard. The plans to this ancient churchyard were lost many years ago. Together with others, we are trying to make a new plan with grave numbers to help anyone searching for their loved ones. There are over 60,000 burials here, many, unfortunately, in unmarked graves. The churchyard dates back to before the 15th century.
I am a keen genealogist and hoping by doing this, we can help others. The newer cemetery opened in 1923 and is under the care of Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council.
