I started volunteering when I was researching my family tree. I thought it was wonderful that people took time out of their day to contribute photos and I was incredibly thankful to be able to see the graves of my ancestors from different places that I can't visit. I wanted to do the same for other people, whether they're working on their family history or can't visit their loved ones grave site. I try to take as many pictures as time will allow and upload them as soon as possible. I'm not able to go to grave yards often, but I'll do my best to help out when I can.
