You live as long as you are remembered. — Russian proverb.
I am bound to them, though I cannot look into their eyes or hear their voices. I honor their history and I will cherish their lives. Their story will be told and I will remember them.
We are who we are because they were who they were.
The life of the dead is placed in the memory of the living. We must preserve their lives & those memories by making sure they have place and a voice on Find-a-Grave!

Retired with nothing to do except genealogy & indexing!!!!

Fathers' family are all NWA pioneers from TN NC SC GA WV VA-all Southern states - My mother's line - all Iowa, Ohio, NY, VT. NH, CT, MA, PA and all other Yankee states~ then Denmark and Prussia. So of course, I managed to connect my mother's line to my father's line back in the 1600's 4 different ways ~~ who knew!

Direct descendant of Carroll County pioneers.
Father: Herbert PINKLEY m Suzanne M Harper

Grand: Earl Ruffus PINKLEY m Gladys M TRUE

Greats: William Pinkley m Ida E FANNING
Sturtevant P TRUE m Anna K Bottomley

2X: George W Pinkley m Mery Jane HARP
James Fanning m Mary Sarah Betsy BURKES/BIRKES

3X: Benjamin F Pinkley m Margaret Killion
Thomas Lewis Harp m Nancy Marie VAUGHAN
Nathaniel Taylor Fanning m Idress Jane BOREN
George Washington BIRKES m Elizabeth Biggerstaff

The TRUE line takes me back to New England including 8 who came over on the Mayflower, Plymouth & the infamous Salem Witch Trials. Had 3 accused w/ 2 acquitted while 1 just 'disappeared from the public record. I also had ancestors in Jamestown VA - then back to England & Normandy & the ever 'obligatory' royal connection back to Charlemagne, Alfred the Great, William the Conqueror, King John, Edward III etc etc etc.... I am actually directly descended from Adam - - - so there!! But alas, no Indian princess???

After living the last 40 years in Texas & Tennessee - I love living here in Eureka Springs Arkansas. Here I am connected to and surrounded by my family's history!!! Questions I would so LOVE to ask them - " Why did you pick that mountain to live on & how on earth did you plan THAT road to get there???" lol - I guess mules & horses can go places a pickup doesn't like to!!
