Bio

I am Wayne Reed Coskrey, son of Homer Sneed Coskrey, Jr., of Pike County, Alabama. My paternal grandmother was Lula Elizabeth Youngblood Coskrey, so I'm very much interested in the Youngbloods, Boltons, Greens, etc. of AL and SC. My mom was Annie Ruth Reed Coskrey of Falkner, Tippah County, MS, and through her I have much interest in the Reeds and Goolsby from north Mississippi. I'm very lucky that my dad and his dad were the ones in their family who had an interest in family history, and my maternal grandfather, James Lytle Reed, was legendary for his encyclopedia memory of his family history. I am the former curator of the Louisiana Arts & Science Museum Planetarium in Baton Rouge and have training in both physics/astronomy and art. My dad was Dean Emeritus of Education and Continuing Education at Mississippi State University, which was also my alma mater, where I received a B.S. in physics/math with honors.

Currently I'm making my way through all the old family photos bequeathed to me through both my mom and dad and restoring them through Photoshop. I have put low resolution versions of the best shots up on my Find-A-Grave relatives' memorials and will be adding more as they become available. (I've started first with the oldest and most damaged photos, working my way forward to photos of more recent years.) More detailed versions of the photos should be up soon on my Coskrey Biz website. I always welcome comments about any of my family history information or photographs.
