I have educational training in Cultural Anthropology, with a focus on Historical Archaeology. The primary focus of my work has been concentrated on African American and Asian American historical experiences in the US. I have been researching professionally since 1997 and have been conducting family research, non-professionally, since 2001.

This site is intended to be an aid, an informal research tool, and I believe that everyone utilizing it has an obligation to verify any data posted by someone else before re-using it and incorporating the same into their own research. In this Technological Age the access to, and preservation of, historical information has become much easier to accomplish. It has, however, also become that much easier to misinterpret the data or haphazardly record the same incorrectly.

With that being said, I am not a “numbers” type of person and I have no desire to be that “one person” with the most memorials added or managed. My sole intention for joining this site was so that I might utilize it as an aid in locating my own relatives who lived outside of my geographical region of frequent travel. I also hoped that I would be able to help others in their search for the same.

If you are more closely related than I am, or my husband is, to any of the individuals whose memorials I manage, I am more than happy to transfer them to you. I do not manage many so I don’t really foresee this as an issue. I know some individuals on this site are “possessive” of their numbers and don’t want to part with any memorials they’ve created – I feel this type of behavior is insensitive and inappropriate when a direct relative is requesting to host a memorial for a deceased loved one.
