I was born during WW II in London, England to Warrant Officer Joseph Heywood, Middlesex Regiment, Royal Army, and Hazel Heywood. Our family came to America in 1952. I finished my elementary and high school education in the San Gabriel Valley. In 1970, I received a BA in English from CSULA. I've been married for almost sixty years to Gracia. Together we have two daughters, three granddaughters, and a great granddaughter. In retirement I've enjoyed writing a number of local history books.
