I was born as Dan O'Connell in Rockford, IL. Youngest of 8 children. My father was born in NYC, my mother in Portsmouth, VA. I grew up rather detached from my ancestors, never knew either grandfather.

Besides Genalogy, I run a photo services business that provides virtually every service you can think of... digitizing old negatives and slides, making prints, developing film, VHS transfers, you name it.

And beyond that... I'm involved in the BSA as an Assistant Scoutmaster. I'm also an Eagle Scout, so camping is one of my favorite activities.

Also a techie, and fairly adept at fixing things.
