Why is Find a Grave is such a great resource?
1. It helps find where their loved ones are buried.
2. It preserves images of crumbling/fading gravestones and if possible, pictures of the deceased.
3. It aids in finding true names, dates and locations of birth, death and marriages.
4. Provides links to Parents, Siblings, Spouses and Children.

I began doing research on my direct and extended family in 2003. I joined Find A Grave in 2012. My cousin and I track of the 8 direct lines and 8 branches of my family that go back to the 10th century. Currently my cousin and I share duties in this data.
Regarding transfers: Most of the memorials I manage are relatives (direct and distant). And even for a memorial that is a relative, I believe that if you are a closer relative than I am, then you should have it if you want it. Just tell me how you are related to that memorial and we can work out which of us is the closer relative.
