Bio

I first started researching my Swartz family roots in the late 1970's while residing in Chicago. We had both a National Archives and The Newberry Library, both rich with data. My father's biological father died of the great flu epidemic of 1918 when Dad was only three years old. He knew nothing of his Swartz family. I was able to show him his direct Swartz ancestors back to Abraham Swartz born in PA in 1791. I am currently trying to verify Abraham's parents, listed as Jacob and Christina Gorr Swartz, but have never found any source that confirms that data. My ultimate goal is to determine which Swartz ancestor emigrated to the United States from Germany, both when and from where.
