My interest in family history began shortly after I married. My grandmother,
my mother, and my mother's two sisters took me to all the family cemeteries in Mississippi where our ancestors are buried. I took notes in a spiral notebook listing all the cemeteries and the headstone inscriptions of graves that might possibly be related to us. That and information in Family Bibles started me on a never ending journey. Computers and the internet have certainly made that journey easier, but I still have that spiral notebook. My latest passion is cleaning and restoring headstones that are deteriorating because of neglect.
