Genealogy is my favorite past time aside from being a daughter, sister, mom, mimi, aunt and a wife. :). My sweet cousin that I miss dearly got me started on family research for our family over 24 years ago. She was already searching and I just was hooked right after.
My main research Names are- Tolbert, Adams, Burks, Echols, Buckner, Fowler, Milam, These names are focused mainly in Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina,, North Carolina, Virginia, and up the East Coast when dating back. I'm trying to find where my Tolbert's first came into America (and where my Tolbert & Adams line are before being in The Carolinas) , where they came from before( any help is much appreciated), I know my Adams Line is very promising, but I need to find where they originated from as well and when they came to America, looking for all possible leads..I'm interested in finding where my Fowler line originates(Joseph B Fowler had a daughter- Ella, who married Elisha Tolbert), I'm completely at a brick wall on Joseph B Fowler after 1860 Alabama, he just disappears. The Milam name is from Tabitha Milam who married Alexander Burks. That's on paper, but finding Tabitha's connection to other Milam's is proving very difficult. I'm hoping to find much more on the Burks/ Burke, families. I'll try to help if I can and I would appreciate any leads or help anyone may have .
