I remember the first time I found findagrave.com. Late one night, about 4 years after my mom had passed, I was Googling her name. I don't know why and I don't know what I expected to find. It was just something comforting to do. Then I noticed a link to findagrave.com and when I clicked it I couldn't believe what I was seeing. A picture of my mother's grave. I was horrified. I immediately clicked on the contributor's name to ask her something akin to 'How dare you...' and then I read her bio, something about preserving the past, and I thought better of it.

In the months that have passed since then, not only have I become engrossed in ancestory.com (and using findagrave.com to verify dates - which is great!) but I've also become and member and contributor here. Now I find myself coming by just to have a look at my Mom's resting place and I find comfort in that. I hope you find some peace and comfort here, too. I am greatful for being able to help others track down loved ones or fill in the gaps of their ancestry.
