Bio

I am founder of the MASSEY FAMILY ASSOCIATION & REUNIONS 1980; published the "MASSEY FAMILY HISTORY" 1984 400 pages; Past President of Jackson County, MO Genealogical Society, Independence, MO. I served as past treasurer to the Volunteer group at the Kansas City National Archives branch, teaching people how to use the NARA federal records. I belong to many genealogical societies. I am a mother to three children and four grandchildren. I am still active in researching the MASSEY family history and I currently serve as the Historian to the family assocition for our reunions which are held on even numbered years at the Lake of the Ozarks at Rocky Mt., MO Assembly of God Church Campgrounds over the Labor Day week-end.
I live in Independence, MO and do research at the Mid-Continent Public Library Genealogy Center, a 52,000 square foot respository. Per the "Family Tree Magazine, it is one of the top ten libraries that must be "seen" before you die.
