Bio

Born and raised in western New York State, I'm a neophyte taphophile and dabbler in genealogy, having traced my ancestors back to the 1500s. My forbears' surnames include Davenport, Dey, Green, Hazeltine, Helper, Lamoreaux, Perrine, Proper, and Steele. My interests center around pop culture—especially music, film, art, and true crime. I've visited the graves of such famous (an infamous) people as Maxwell Anderson, Susan B. Anthony, Lucille Ball, Barbara Billingsley, Lizzie Borden, Chef Boyardee, Louise Brooks, Thomas Cottonaro, Hart Crane (cenotaph), Divine, Patty Donahue, Frederick Douglass, Peter Duel, Thomas Eakins, George Eastman, Stephen Foster, Benjamin Franklin, Alan Freed, President James Garfield, Errol Garner, Frank Gorshin, Glenn Gould, Corey Haim, Henry John Heinz, Gregory Hines, Sara Hinson, Tim Horton, Rick James, John F. Kennedy, Victor Kugler, Abraham Lincoln, Jayne Mansfield, Billy Mays, Bob Mizer, Marilyn Monroe, Benjamin Orr, Kristen Pfaff, Edgar Allan Poe, John D. Rockefeller, Fred Rogers, Betsy Ross, Lillian Russell, Rod Serling, Sam Sheppard, Bessie Smith, Dr. Bob Smith, Tammi Terrell, Harry K. Thaw, William Warfield, Andy Warhol, August Wilson, and players in the cases of the Cleveland Torso Killer (Edward Andrassy, Florence Pollilo, Elliot Ness), Jack the Ripper (suspect Francis Tumelty), the Johnstown Flood, the Kent State Massacre (Allison Krause), and the sinking of the Titanic (Edward and Ethel Beane, Edward Austin Kent, Stanley Fox, and May Elizabeth Howard). Upon my death, I intend to have my cremains interred at Westwood Memorial Park in Los Angeles, where I'll share a wall with Janet Leigh and Jack Klugman, among others.
