Bio

I am from a family of 7 children born and raised in Lafayette, IN. My father was from Lafayette. My mother is from Goodland, IN. In 1991, my husband and I moved from Indiana with our 3 children to Melbourne, FL.
I have been blessed with many older relatives that have kept my family's history alive. My mother turns 90 this year (2012). Her sister lived to be 97, just passing in 2009. Her mother was lived to 92 years of age (1973). And her aunt lived to the age of 100, passing in 1996.
Like most families, at gatherings, they all loved talking about the "old days". And I enjoyed listening, fueling my interest in my ancestry. Though interested in my family tree all my life, I only began serious work on it about 7 years ago. Then, 5 years ago, with the help of "trees" from other "branches" and finding a wealth of old photos from both of my parents' families, I began work on a photo family tree. Thus, putting faces to the stories I grew up with and youthful photos to the great-aunts and uncles I only remember as being old. Having a photo of their headstone brings things "full circle".
Having just found "Find-A-Grave" in 2011, I am still very new and learning with each visit to the site. And I am a stickler for accuracy. (Kind of explains why I am still working on my tree… 7 years later…) So, if you find an error or can add info to a memorial I have submitted, please let me know. And if you wish a transfer of management of a memorial because of family relationship, I would be happy to do it.
