Names I am tracing: CLOSE (blood line), KELLY/KELLEY, BRUNELL/BRUNELLE, MANOR/MENARDI've been able to trace my roots back to Dublin City, Ireland. I know there is a strong English connection but can't find the missing link. I even went to Ireland to see if there was something there that we could not access in the US. Came up with very little and hit a wall. Since 1999 I've not been able to make a hole in that wall. If your ancestors are from Ireland you are in for a long wait. NOTHING and I mean NOTHING is indexed over there and if it was documented chances are it was lost in a fire, flood or whatever excuse they come up with. The church holds records with an iron fist and they won't let you have access to them. I'm not even sure God himself would be allowed. It's only as of late that their 1911 Ireland census was released. The 1901 Ireland census is scheduled to be released June 2010. It was in Ireland that I realized they came to the US and ended up in Texas before coming to CT. One brother stayed there while the other came up to CT. A sister was a Dominican nun in Louisiana and another brother stayed in Dublin. That is where I hit the brick wall. I do, however, have a clue when searching. They tend to use the same names over and over and over. The first generation boy is always named George CLOSE.Anyone who can lend a hand based on my listings is always welcome. Good luck with your journey to the past!
