I also appreciate the team efforts of findagrave members-those who contribute pictures, obituaries, and family links. I don't mind death certificates on my postings. Not only is this site used to perpetuate the memory of loved ones, but it is also used to help others track their ancestors.
Please STOP asking me to remove Social Security numbers. They are freely published and available for the deceased to prevent reuse. They are also on many death certificates.
The new edit system is great, but members, please check the requests before you blindly hit Accept. I've caught many errors in these edit requests. Please don't hyphenate last names or ask me to do so. Consider how difficult it is to search for an ancestor with a hyphenated last name. I follow findagrave transfer policies, and my pet peeve: members who seem to feel they can make up their own rules. Adding as much documentation as you can (including death certificates) is another way to ensure accuracy.
And, if you are going to be a genealogist, please learn to spell 1) CEMETERY, not cemetary and 2) INTERMENT, not internment.
