Bio

Patrick and I became interested in genealogy last year when we came across a very thorough history his maternal grandmother and grandfather had written about a branch of their family. It chronicles the family from the 1200's up until 1974. This inspired me to try to find my roots, and my growing enthusiasm started Patrick on the search for his father's family. My family are all in Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee while Patrick's are here in Missouri (not far from our home) and in Iowa.

Patrick, so far, has been more successful at finding his family than I have. Not to say I haven't found a great deal of information...I have, but he's found lots more "good stuff" than I have. I've learned to be patient and how to deal with frustrations a bit better.

It was the frustration of knowing where my family is buried...almost all of them, and not being able to go there right away and see the graves that led me to become a photo volunteer on Find A Grave. I figured since we'd be in these cemeteries anyway looking for Patrick's relatives, I may as well help those folks out who are in the same predicament I am and allay some of the frustration.

So, the journey begins...thanks for letting us come along...it really is an honor.
