Bio

I have been a Vliet family researcher since 1990 and so I would assume this qualifies me to be a genealogist today in 2010. My family roots are in Long Island, New York, starting in 1662 and then migrating to central and northwestern New Jersey in 1710, and on to Canton, Ohio, in 1884 where I was born. Continuing westward, I have lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Auburn, Washington, and I now reside in Little River, South Carolina.

My Find A Grave interest materialized from my family genealogy research because many of my family grave sites dating back to the 1600's to 1800 have been lost due to a variety of reasons. I have added five family members to Find A Grave because their headstones are lost, obliterated, or their cemetery is on private land and lost in time.

When the situation arises,I notify Find A Grave contributor's to identify Vliet family members that have illegible headstones, etc., especially children.
