Bio

Hi visitor! I have been doing genealogy on and off for over 7 years. It started with my wifes side of the family and quickly grew from there. Lately I have been concentrating on my Flinn/Flynn heritage but still work on the Gioia side (maternal) as well. I am fortunate to still have relatives with memories to assist but admit the information is starting to linger.

On the Flinn side my GG Grandfather William and his older brother Ed fought in the civil war from the Cambria County PA Volunteers. The story has been passed down that Ed was wounded in battle and held prisoner in a war camp in Georgia, Andersonville where he later died. I have searched databases but have not been able to locate his headstone.

On the Gioia side information is even less available. The majority of elder Gioia's have passed, still leaving huge holes that need to be filled. Specifically, my grandfather Joeseph and his brother Anthony had a sister. It has been passed down that the sister, Helen, passed away at a young age sometime in the 1920's. So far I have not been able to track down ANY record of her passing. I'm sure one day the truth will be revealed.
